I spent most of 2020 working on this illustrated map for the Chemung County Chamber of Commerce. It was a welcome distraction to illustrate the place where I was born, where my parents met, where my grandparents raised a family, where my great grandparents lived too. I explore and spend time here often and so I tried to capture some of the ordinarily magical moments that I see as well as the area’s rich history. It’s a very special place and I hope you come visit some day and search for all the things on this map!
Over 100 Chamber member businesses and attractions registered to participate in the map. The map has been reproduced as 24 x 36" poster, available for sale through the Chemung Chamber as a fundraiser for its 115th year anniversary in 2020.
